Why has he been so careless when the school was invaded by Death Eater? Was it the plan he orchestrated from the beginning? Many think so, but I doubt not.

I dont think he's dead. Look at the way JK has written, Snape is defended by Dumbledore, and there's no way he completely betray like that. Dumbledore is not stupid. I think it's just some trick to make Voldermort (oops, the Lord, You-Know-Who) trust Snape more.

We'll see how.

He made a sacrifce for the better good, while Harry will now be foreced to become a man and not a boy anymore, it also has other effects. Hogworts in now in danger of closeing, forcing the students and teacher to really take sides and stand up for each other. The Wizard world has lost it's wisest and mots trusted adviser, forcing them to really think for themselves. Also, now Harry will have a new fire fuleing his destiney. He and the rest of the team will now have a fallen hero under which to fight for and form outside the Minister's thinking. It will all work out in the end, and dumbledorf will allways be remembered.

I think it was planned. He defended Snape at every turn, so I think he planned it this way to force Harry to grow up more and realize his true destiny. As long as Dumbledore was around Harry didn't really have to worry about doing what he was destined to do, and that's defeat Voldemort.
