That doesn't sound normal, 7 years??? Sounds like you have very thin skin I'd have that checked out by a doctor or plastic surgeon, try to cut down on over using your abdominal area, such as heavy lifting, and wear cloths which aren't too tight and aren't rubbing on area's that need healed, especially if you bend over alot and are always physically active because your scars can become dry and stretched, naturally you will see on stretch mark areas where the skin has stretched and become thin, to keep skin from being dry and remove scars you can try lotion like Skin Essentials Cocoa Butter for Stretch Marks, it's formulated with Vitamin E, Collagen & Elastin.

You better get to a Doctor quickly! The odor is beacause of the infection that you are harboring. The reason I say quickly is because you could very easily end up with what they call peritonitis and if you don't just get sick from it, it can poison you and can cause death.
I had a friend that this happened to, and the Doctor that did the surgery had left the packing inside of her. I understand that it's not that uncommon. So please don't hesitate before seeing someone.
Good Luck

My question is are you over weight. The C-section scar is generally in an area that when you get over weight the skin folds over. If you have fat overlapping the area where your scar is then it is possible it has nothing to do with the scar itself. It could be the result of your weight. Providing that is the case you need to keep the area clean and dry allowing it to get as much air as possible. I would suggest to lay in bed with a fan blowing on your lower abdomen for a few minutes a day. If you are not over weight and you do not have a problem with the skin folding over your scar then you probably have a problem with your scar. You need to seed medical attention.

What is wrong with you??? you need not waste your time online asking US and ASK YOUR HEALTH CARE PROVIDER!!!!
I am so sick of seeing common sense problems addressed on this damn site, Even if someone had the same thing I'm sure they'd recommend a PROFESSIONAL!!! That does not sound normal........obviously it isnt......who's scars just start flaring up .........You better get your a ss to a doctor quick before you end up with and infection and fall over and croak.........BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY>>>>>>YOU HAVE CHILDREN TO BE HERE FOR AN WASTING YOUR TIME ASKING A SITE FOR TIPS WHEN YOU NEED MEDICAL ATTENTION IS VERY IRRESPONSIBLE......
I DONT MEAN TO BE RUDE BUT COME ON NOW........U HAVE TO LOOK AT THINGS LIKE THAT AS POSSIBLY BECOMING SOMETHING SERIOUS......ONE DAY YOU MAY FLARE UP NOT KNOWING AND THEN YOU HAVE AN INTERNAL INFECTION OR SOMETHING AND HAD YOU JUST GONE TO THE DOCTOR IT WAS SOMETHING WHICH COULD BE PREVENTED BY TAKING A SIMPLE ANTIBIOTIC .........
NOT ONLY FOR THE CHILDREN FOR YOURSELF.........YOU SHOULDNT WASTE TIME WAITING ON SUGGESTIONS.......YOU NEED TO GET UP AND GET TO THE DOCTOR........AND IM NOT TRYING TO GET BEST ANSWER IM TRYING TO GET YOU TO USE YOUR BRAIN AND SEEK REAL HELP BECAUSE LIKE I SAID HEALTH IS A SERIOUS ISSUE ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU'RE NOT THE ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD THAT LOVES YOU SO SHOW THEM AND YOURSELF HOW MUCH YOU CARE AND GET OFF THIS DAMN COMPUTER AND ON THE PHONE WITH YOUR DOCTOR ATLEAST AN ADVICE NURSE.................

You need to get to your doctor pronto. It sounds as though you have a subcutaneous infection under the scars. Scar tissue doesn't have the circulatory capability that normal tissue does, and if infection gets into it, it is difficult to get rid of without medical assistance. Don't play around with this -- it can be serious, and you don't want to set yourself up for septicemia.

That is strange being 7 years later. Somehow, the Dr./surgeon did a horrible job and now you might be infected. I don't understand how that could happen 7 years later though.

Wash the area really well. Make sure you dry the area also.
Call your OB who did the surgery and make an appointment.
