This has been something I've always wondered. Why do many straight people say that they don't want gay and lesbian themed movies/tv shows "shoved down their throat", when the vast majority of movies/tv shows are straight oriented? If they are uncomfortable w/ such portrayals of gays & lesbians, why do they choose to cause a stink instead of simply NOT WATCHING the shows? Discuss.

Of course there is a double standard in that regard. Also you'll see lesbian themes are much more accpeted because it appeals to straight males, but gay themes are not because it is a "threat" to the male bravado.

Because those type of movies and television shows will make the gay and lesbian lifestyle more mainstream which will increase the moral degradation of our society. An increase in homosexuality is not good for any society and is usually a sign that it is in decline.
