http://www.pulseHEAD.com/
pulseHEAD is great because it's better than a swift kick in the junk. Users all over the world submit stories, jokes, photos, and crappy MS Paint drawings for the amusement of others. Even though it's members-only, it's easy to get an account if you can write only one thing that doesn't suck. Once you have an account in hand, you can chat with other users, send private messages, change the look and feel of the site, or simply just continue to not suck.
To be completely honest, it's really a secret ploy to take over the entire world and force people to write funnier and more entertaining stuff on the internet. Those who can not or will not comply will be cast out into the abyss and have their calves bitten by rabid monkeys.

Hey There Dane Cook! I Really Enjoy Your Work!
anyways, When I Think Of 'Underground Websites', I Think Of 'Laughing Squid', A Blog Site All About The Underground Art, Culture, Technology Of (mainly) San Francisco And Elsewhere..
What Makes This Site Cool Is Seeing All These Videos/Photos And Info On Events Around The Bay And Further That's A Real Blast To Visit For Real Life, For Example, The 6th Annual 'Bring Yoru Own Big Wheel' ('BYOBW') Event Down San Francisco's Crookedest Street aka Top Of Lombard Street Every Easter..
As For An 'Underground' Site Like A New, Startup, Cool, Funny, Unknown To Some Site, Look To 'YTMND', That's 'Your The Man Now Dog', A Quote From Sean Connery That Has Become A Cult Internet Favorite. Combining A Mix Of Images, Sound, And Text, It Makes A Usually Funny Out Come, Check Out The Top Rated YTMNDs For An Example..
Now, A Newcomer To The Site Will Be A Bit Confused About What The Heck Is Going On Or What All These Strange 'Fads' Are, So Check Out The Wikipedia Page About It Or The Site's Own About Page..
Enjoy!

Gee, Dane, don't know where you got that question *cough*MySpace*cough*.
First ingrediant has to be a naturally grown community. People that have found the site through random web searches and things like that. Once you start getting the people who only get on because they heard about the site on TV one night, it ruins the flavor. See MySpace for an example of a web site slowly being eaten alive by MySpammers.
Secondly, there have to be cool features. Blogs, and friends are one thing, but messaging and chat rooms, those make any site a great one.
Third, content, content, content. If you don't have content, you're not it.
Right now, I think the best site has got to be Orkut. You actually need both a gmail account and an invitation from a prior member of Orkut to join. It's big enough for a wide variety of people, yet small enough to still be intimate, and it has all the features you want. Xanga's second on the list, not the exclusivity, but not all the hype has caught up to this site.
As far as I go, I hang out at stucknut.com, the coolest pacle online.

well I guess some people can interpret the question in a couple of ways: 1. what is the coolest up and coming website or 2. what is the coolest "underground"(pertaining to hackers) website.
To answer the first question, I particularly think that the site Myspace reaches out to many different age groups and to many cultures. That gives it a + on my list. Also I would have to say the site Facebook is cool too. Its geared towards students at the college level but also to high school students as well. That way you can make new friends or reminisce with old ones.
As far as answering question 2, some people relate underground websites as a hackers world. I think to be able to use technology to see what is private is awesome when used for a good purpose; however, it was made private for a reason. Privacy is one thing that can keep an individuals dignity strong so anything destroying that, I cant associate myself with and consider "cool."

hmmm...I just wanted to clarify what kind of answer u want which sounds dumb as *ahem* but the answers that I briefly rolled through didn't contain links to any underground sites (lots of the sites seem pretty funny/cool except those that you don't realize what they r 'bout/those "surprise I'm nasty" ones that make u puke before u can get away via back button). An underground website is either built to avoid being spidereded by search engines so that people can't find them due to their content or whatever the dang reason the builders want to or they are just so unknown that they are not seen enough to come up tops on the search list. Like My Space is so not underground since you have everyone and their momma's on there and people talk the crap out of it. The quick up-nod, "check me out on myspace, I'm _____!". I ask b/c I obviously from this letter am borderline...ok maybe fully....a-retentive about certain stuff and I am bored, should be working on something that will make me some money at this time of day, and a geek to boot. Besides I just want to make sure u get the answers u r looking for cause I am a pretty serious, stern, that's not funny/played out/oh please type person, and u r one of a handful of comedians that I think really got it. But like u need my vote of approval, right?
I'm not trying to be s&*^%y either in my answer just trying to see if folks are misunderstanding what u r really asking for or if I am. Yeah, I know, what a b......

I'm an Advisor at Yahoo! Tech (Techie Diva) and I wanted to share with you my favorite underground sites full of underground news.
1. Digg.com: Users vote on the most sizzling stories in technology. If you want to know what people (not editors) think is newsworthy right now, this is the site to visit.
2. BoingBoing: A reminder that life is stranger than fiction. This site highlights the oddest news and stories from around the web.
3. Fark: A collection of bizzare stories that you would normally get forwarded from a friend. They are just that good.
4. MoBuzz TV: News video blog with a fun take on new technology, celebrities, current events, and trends. They have their finger on the pulse. It's a lot like Rocketboom.
5. The Cool Hunter: Meet the kids of cool who report on the new trends in design, art, fashion and music on a worldwide level.
6. We Make Money Not Art: Berlin-based blog about robotics, art, wearable technology and other emerging technology. The author always manages to dig out some very strange news from around the world.

Well Dane, I would have to recommend http://www.liquidgeneration.com/ because it's just plain funny. Basically it is "The Daily Show" mixed with "Showbiz Show". If you love to laugh at tabloids, you'll get a kick out of this website. Whenever I'm bored and have hours to kill this is the website I go to. They have games, videos, and shows that will kill any extra time you have. And not only do they have all of this, but they also have a music player to accompany the website. Every week they add a new play list to choose from that hosts a wide range of indie music, none of that mainstream stuff. So it's an underground site with underground music, which I like because I love Indie Rock music and comedy.
Also, www.happytreefriends.com was a fun website because come on, who doesn't love watching lovable, cuddly cartoon creatures that die in the most horrific ways you can think of? The answer is weird people, which I don't think you are one. But this site isn't really underground anymore because now they sell the DVDs at Hot Topic.
So yeah, check these sites out Dane unless you want me to pumpkin bomb you! P.S. You were great in Vegas!!

Whitest Kids U Know - A great site detailing a New York comedy troupe's work and sketches. They parody current issues and seemingly random topics. Tons of hilarious videos that are so funny I can't even begin to describe them.
Crap I Drew on My Lunch Break - Comic Series drawn by Jin Wicked which for one has great art but also is full of liberal wit and sarcasm while at the same time being slightly autobiographical of the artist.
GaijinSmash.net - Formerly based on the Outpost 9 servers, this blog of sorts details an American's experience as an English teacher in Japan. Offers a different perspective of the Japanese while at the same time being great writing.
Falling Sand Game - The BEST time-waster ever. Start playing and you won't stop. Trust me.
The Reality Clock - Tons of random statistics from the morbid (how many children have died today) to the weird (how many bugs you have eaten this year).
Crazy Sytes - Type in a url and watch this site distort it with different text, spelling, and other weird features.
Tampon Crafts - Just weird and amusing. Always makes me laugh.
Save the Internet - Website made to rally the public against Congress's potential destruction of net neutrality. Sign the petition NOW!

Good God! I still don't believe this is Dane Cook. But I'll give my two bits seeing that I am a struggling comic that doesn't have the time to be a full time comic seeing I am married and own a home with a car payment and 2 jobs that PAY the bills, and all of this equals responsibility! The reason for the rant is you called some of us potentially good comics hucksters; and that is like a homeless Bonaroo hippie calling a hard working music and band lover a fraud.
Here's your website Mister Dane Serendipitous Cook!
www.oddtodd.com
It's a funny *** website.
It's not really underground because it is not macabre, but who can go underground on a vast network that can be hacked by the same people who build them (in the US) that work for the CIA now to just to stay out of jail?
