Egads!!! What size tank do you have now? One is more than enough. It can get up to 800 pounds so you'll probably have to end up giving to an aquarium. Where on Earth did you get it? I'd put it back if you got it from its native habitat. You're going to end up feeding it massive amounts and it will outgrow any tank you put it in. It is just a myth that a fish will grow only as big as the tank it is in. It's DNA makes it grow as big as it's supposed to, tank or not. Also, aquariums are always looking for Alligator gars so you might just want to give it to them now to save you the trouble. If you want a very unique carnivorous fish, try an arrowana. One will live quite happily in a 75gallon aquarium and you will be quite entertained when you feed it live goldfish. My suggestion as a fellow aquarist, give the gar to your city's aquarium. It will be much happier for it.

Maybe for a bit yes. But alligator gars can grow to be 300lbs or more when full grown. And I don't know of a tank or home that could house a fish that size comfortablly.

Yes, you can keep only one alligator gar in a tank. It will grow though, so you'll have to get a bigger tank as it grows.

If you only feed them 2 times a week they shouldn't grow to fast and i think you could keep more than one but i would worry about any other fish you have

Well first off, what do you even do with a fish that big?
Second, where would you find a tank big enough for TWO fish that big??
Uhh.. I'd assume you'd keep one to a tank...
