I just moved to a new state, and the school I go to is not that different. I dress a little different. All the people at my new school dresses skater, and I don't. All the boys make fun of me because I have acne, and they said that I'm anerexic, and I'm not. I want to cry, but I don't because they would know that it was getting to me, and make fun of me even more. I'm pretty, but acne is a big problem. What do I do?

Well, dressing differently inherently poses problems simply because you're not like everybody else. Don't change what you wear because of other people under any circumstances.

For the rumors regarding possible eating disorders.. don't sweat that at all. Some people just have really fast metabolisms and stay super thin no matter what they eat. If you want to dispel those rumors, always have like a bag of chips or something with you. Just eat a lot infront of everybody. Who'll be dumb enough to say you're anorexic if you're eating constantly??

As for acne, proactive is supposed to be really really good at clearing things up. Aveeno was recommended to me by a dermatologist, too. If you're really that concerned about it, arrange to see a dermatologist about your skin. They can help you work wonders and once your skin clears up, you'll be so confident nobody can even touch you!!

Good luck, sweetheart

If acne products aren't helping much go to a dermatologist that offer a laser treatment, but is a little costly and you have to get like 8 treatments once or twice a week.

The cost really depends on your insurance plan. Maybe you get the treatments for a very low price. For me one treatment costs 70something. I forgot but it was worth it.

I only got one treatment when I was suppose to get 8, but with just only one treatment my face cleared out completely. My confidence improved SOOO much. That was months ago and I got a few pimples again but it was because I didn't followed the treatment because of my hectic schedule in college, but I will def. try it again. I had to take some pills and wash my face with certain medication that was part of the lasor treatment. Nothing has worked better.

If I would have found this when I was in higschool then I would have been happier. My acne was horrible, now is more controlled.

Hope you consider it.
Call your dermatologist right away.

Oh and what the laser does is close your pores, and it's safe. It didnt do any harm to me.

correction: the treatment is called blue light treatment.

School can be tough and school kids are often cruel. As they reach maturity; (some take longer than others); they will realize how much of an idiot they were. Some will regret; some will not.
You should not care about these kids' opinions. What matters is what you think of yourself. Make fun of them. As I recall; grunge died with Kurt Cobain. Most kids that dress that way often have trouble fitting in and they often make themselves feel better if they persecute someone else different.
As for the skin problems; they will take care of themselves. Hormones, hygeine, stress, and diet are all factors. You can't control hormones; that takes time. Hygeine- Facial cleansing every 3-4 hours; use skin cleansers and exfoliants, but use exfoliants end of day. Stress- remain calm, don't sweat the small stuff, tell jokes, laugh, have lots of fun,(is ok to cry; your only human), and exercise(find something you like). Exercise reduces stress even if you don't need it.
Diet- Fatty foods that are fried in vegetable oil, animal fat, and caertain processed foods. Avoid these foods if possible. You can have a broiled burger; but no fries. Eat fish from ocean, just fry it in olive oil. Fish oils are not only good in reducing bad cholesterol, but is good for the hair. As your body absorbs this omega 3 type oil it ends up in your hair. It makes it shiny. Since human hair grows on average 2-3 inches a month it will take a young lady with shoulder length hair about 6-8 months for complete hair replacement.
If you are a thin woman; don't fight it. Be happy that you were blessed. Not every kid is born into this world thin. Be comfortable with yourself. If you feel you need to fit in; you can always wear bulky cloths. Think of it as a superhero costume. When people want to really know you ; they will just ask. You hae al the time in the world to grow up. Your body is in transition. What you put into it and your dedication to its health will have a far reaching impact on what you will become. Remember; your just a diamond in the rough. Some day that diamond will outshine the stars.
Its all up to you. Keep smiling. Keep laughing. Love yourself.
Good luck. Stay in school. Don't ever do drugs(Not worth it)! Be respectful to your parents; they; after all made some of those same mistakes. You might be surprised how much help they can give you.

Unfortunately, kids (no matter what age - which often includes those of adult age) can be cruel. Don't allow them to be a barometer of your self-esteem. You are worth a lot - not what they judge you by.

If acne is a problem, ask your parents to take you to a dematologist (they may need a referral from a primary care physician depending on their insurance). They'll give you helpful hints on how to counteract acne (hygeine, diet, medication, etc).

Be who you are - not who they want you to be. If they're focused on the physical then they're going to be superficial friends. Stay on the straight and narrow and soon you will find sincere friends who will be with you for a lifetime rather than a semester.

There is medicine for your acne. Have your parents take you to a dermatologist. Being new is difficult. Give it time. They are testing you. Just keep on being you, don't be pushy, and they will come around. Find someone that likes the same things you do and make the effort to become their friend. I am sure you can remember when there was someone new at your old school, and how it took them time to be accepted. Good luck! and remember to keep smiling. Make em wonder what you know that they don't.

There's always Proactive Solution and things like that for acne, it's a good skin treatment and what some actors have used both men and women.

People are mean in life but you gotta keep your head up, not everybody's mean and you'll come across those that are nice someday.

With every problem you face in life just remember there's always someone else out there that is not as fortunate as you are.

Hello, Sorry to hear you're having a hard time!
People are very cruel, especially at that age!
It's great you're not being a follower!
You'll be surprised the more you stand up tall, next thing people will also start becoming individual by watching you not be intimated, and happy with who you are!
Acne can be cured, by ignorance lasts a very long time!
P.S. Most often then most people who put other people down is because they lack their own self-esteem and have to put others down to build themselves - and that's even in adult hood!
Stand proud my - that's all it takes to get through this world!.

Some kids are mean and you should not listen to what they are saying, they're just stupid.

If your acne is as bad as you say make sure you cleanse your face daily, and use toner and do a facial mask once a week. And you might want to consult a dermatologist regarding your acne, if that doesn't work.

For the acne, go and see a doctor if you can, he'll recomend you something for that...you can also try to search the internet for some natural treatments for acne, they can do no harm.
If you're not anorexic, then you have nothing to worry about.
As for the skater kids...ignore those dumba$$es and be yourself. If they don't like it, screw them, lots of other guys will.

My mother took an egg from a white chicken and put it in with some other hen's eggs. When the hen's eggs hatched, she had 3 speckled chicks and 1 white one. She pecked the white one to death. The hen is the same as people. We fear what we don't understand or what is different from us. Do whatever you can to look like the rest of your classmates and fit in with them. I wish you the very best of luck!
