Bush wants the U.S., Canada and Mexico to be one big state, like the European Union by 2010. And we will have one currency, the Amero. Do you think it's a good idea to combine Canada, Mexico and U.S.?

I didn't make it up. It's on the internet. It's called the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America.
The American press has ignored it.

A lot of the conspiracy theorists say that Pres. Bush wants a United States of North America, with no borders from Guatemala to the north pole. NAFTA has already given us that. The NAFTA corridor runs from Laredo, Texas straight up Interstate 35 to north of Duluth, Minnesota. It's a real bad idea to give up the sovereignty of the United States of America to have some EU-type entity. If they want to see a lot of pissed off people, just let them try it.

Well, I saw your addendum and checked out the SPP. Now I am definitely pissed off.

I looked this up on Wikipedia, and it doesn't really sound like a good idea to me. The EU worked for Europe because the continent was divided into many little countries, each with their own currency, etc.; by creating a single currency in the Euro, the EU helped to encourage tourism by allowing tourists to go from country to country without having to exchange currencies every time (and paying a fee each time to boot).

North America consists of but 3 countries. Creating a supranational goverment would be pointless, and arguably unconstitutional for the US to recognize.

(BTW, do you have evidence that Bush actually supports this plan? Seeing as some Republicans go so far as to advocate US withdrawal from the UN, I'm very skeptical that Bush would sign on to this plan.)

Another big step towards a one world government. Pretty soon we won't have any borders on this planet. More proof of a new world order folks.
And yes it is true that idiot Bush is pushing for this to happen. Its in some of the papers, but people can google North American Union if they have doubts.

I think the concept is OK, but if you just let the countries combine without any rules to join together i think it is dangerous...if mexico doesn't clean up its act America will surely loose, like we are now with all the illegals...

We're already combined in a lot of ways. It will happen eventually, but probably not for another 25 to 30 years.
