As a make up artist i get this alot, here are some tips:

How to Conceal Dark Circles Under Your Eyes

Dark circles can be caused by fatigue, poor circulation, extra-thin skin under the eyes, hyperpigmentation or illness. Treating the cause will help keep dark circles from coming back. In the meantime, consider the following coverup tactics:

Steps:
1. Select an under-eye concealer that's one shade lighter than the foundation you're using.

2. Understand that a pale yellow underbase helps hide blue or grayish circles, while a light blue or mauve underbase masks brownish under-the-eye bags.

3. Dab concealer under your eyes gently, using a soft circular motion.

4. Apply foundation up to the concealer and blend the two shades together gently, using a circular motion.

5. Talk to a dermatologist about prescription bleach creams for chronic dark circles.

6. Ask your doctor about vitamin-A derivative creams and in-office chemical peels that might help lessen the darkness of your circles.

Tips:
Avoid concealers containing oils, because the oil will settle into the fine lines under your eyes and draw attention to the circles.

Consider buying a pair of cosmetic-only eyeglasses if concealer doesn't work for you. Pick out rims that rest right over the dark circles.

Hope that helps.

Don't use a too-light foundation or apply makeup too thickly, or it will just emphasize them more. Look at yourself closely in the mirror and see if it is really dark pigmentation to the skin or if it is a shadow from undereye bags. The shadows are harder to deal with. Some people have them no matter what because of the way the skin lays over their bone structure (people with high cheekbones are especially prone to this).

I have the bag problem and my sister just has dark pigmentation. I use Clinique Repairwear under my eyes and of all the things I've tried, it's the only one to make a difference! If I'm really tired, chamomile tea bags soaked in cool water work for a quick fix, as does Preparation H.

I also use a concealer from Neutrogena that is in a twist-up pen...can't remember the name right now. Revlon Skinlights also has a good wand-type concealer. You want the color to match your skin, but a little shimmer will reflect light away. Make sure to extend the concealer to the skin at the inner corner of your eyes, next to your nose...this is often dark as well.

Remember also that no one probably notices it as much as you do...for all I've complained about it I've been told by some very honest people that they never really noticed :) Good luck!

Never use an over-the-counter facial and body cream bleach under the eyes to eliminate dark circles. Use only prescription creams administered under a doctor's supervision.

First of all, you might want to get checked up at the doctors. Baggy eyes, dark circles, bags under eyes, are symptoms of thyroid problems. Thyroid produced hormones and that might be a problem, depending on your age.

That being said, it's really difficult to cover it up completely. The best bet is to get a foundation color that matches your skin or a color just a tad bit lighter. The reason to get a lighter color foundation is because if you use anything darker than your skin color, it will make it look like you have bags under the eyes due to the optical shade you are creating.

I would say the cheapest stuff that might work is MAC cosmetics. This is because they have so many colors and unlike getting it at walmart, you can try it before you buy it.

Anyway I would go get some medical attention if the problem is going on for a long period of time.

Foundation and concealer will only hide the dark circles, not get rid of them. Find a product that has topical Vitamin K in it. I use Mary Kay's Age-Fighting Eye Cream. To hide them under your makeup use Mary Kay's - MK Signature Concealer in Yellow. Then use a liquid foundation that is a close match to your skin tone.

Liquid concealer is not always the best bet. Try a powder with a fine bristle tip brush. Dab it under your eyes and gently brush in. Use your finishing powder first to see if that works. Apply your base make-up as you normally would then the finishing powder under your eyes as written above. If that doesn't work, ask your doctor about these dark circles. You may have a problem that needs treatment.

Try a concealer that's a shade lighter than your skin tone, then apply a liquid powder foundation in your shade over it with a sponge, and blend well. I like Cover Girl's Ultimate Finish make-up, it's a liquid, powder and concealer, all in one.

id say a well covering concealer in a slightly lighter colour to your complexion and a good light reflecting foundation should do the trick. Works wonders for me when i need to look good after a night out
