The ONLY legal way is through Internet broadcast radio. There are programs you can buy that allows you to record any thing that you hear through your speakers. So, when you find a favorite song say through Yahoo Music Radio, you hit record and it downloads to your hard drive.
It's like using a cassette recorder on a radio which is legal.
