dude, I've been asking myself the same question. I think she's trying to go down the same road many of her fellow pop singers go down on. We've seen Britney and Christina go down that road and now she's doing it too.
I always thought she was way more artsy than other singers with "Forca" and "Folklore". However, those enjoyed a very limited success. Those werent really on the top of the charts. So maybe this time, the record label sort of pressured her into making something that they could cash in on. Perhaps, that is why she released a sexy hip hop album (when all she has done is like pop/folk and DECENT r&b/hiphop).
Maybe she just wants more success. I think that's all of it. She wants to be the sexy one who gets a lot of money. Such a shame that it seems like she's selling out.

I think sometimes you have to change with the times, and if you look at some of her old videos she has hip scenes in them, and she has been on a few rappers albums. I think she is versatile and can do whatever she wants why does she have to be in a certain category, and I don't even think that song really sounds hip hop, but instead more pop just because timberland is in it does not make it hip hop. The song rocks, and it's a dance tune, can you imagine fly like a bird as a dance song? NO!!!!!

not to sound mean because i am a new comer to this activity on the cpu, Nelly is a great artist but, she tends to get a bit coo coo sounding to me if you will. I honestly don't know what to think about her no more. coo coo as in crazy if you will.
