People want to get paid for no work & we would generally rather be obese than get up from the couch and walk for awhile.

We have too much food. Well fed people are not well motivated. When it took all day just to put a meal on the table, people worked their a$$es off.

Most people in America and other privileged countries do not need to work as much and do not have a nessecery need not to be lazy. I'm not saying that people should be lazy that is simply the reason why they are. Nor am I saying that our country is full of rich people either who never work hard. Our country has a fair share of hard working families. But the majority of the people in this country do not have to work as hard as people who are not as privileged as us. (at least not us people as lucky to use a computer and ask question on Yahoo! Answers).

I blame it on our parents really. Its not a fault that was intended.
They just wanted the kids to have better things than they did.
Now people are lazy and think things should just be handed to them instead of working for it.
My parents were poor and instilled a good work ethic in me and it pi$$es me off to no end when I encounter people like that. And Thats everyday. Damn good question ya got here.

It is comes from sense of social security they know even they did not work they will get basic facilities.. sometimes extra love from parents in childhood brings laziness and while we teens it remains there. Many factores involved..

"Just my opinion but I think so much of it comes from parents giving their kids too much..." Children need to know that you have to work hard at what ever you do in life and the benefits of hard work will roll in, from your own hard work not because mom and dad handed it to them... I am one that would work my rear off if I had a job outside of the home...
