If you don't tell any potential employers right away you may get fired as soon as they find out if you are hired. This will also go against any future employers as someone who can not be trusted and I'm sure you are not that kind of a person at all.
Just be honest with who ever and if they aren't compassionate about your situation then you my dear are far better off not working for such a stinker anyway.
Mothers need to work too even when the mother is in the process of becoming a mother.
Best of luck to you and the little one.

I feel for you. To be honest I was looking for a job when I was 22 weeks. (after being fired more or less from a "stable" job because I was pregnant) and I had no luck. If you actually are 21 weeks than they can probably tell that your pregnant. I applied for jobs I was way over qualified for and they wouldn't even hire me to be a hostess at a resturant. If you really aren't showing then you will have better luck but you should be honest and tell them @ the interview.

well, from my experience, you shouldn't disclose it at all, esp if they are potential, meaning you don't have the job yet. I know I was discriminated against when I looked for a job. I know all they saw was my belly and "maternity leave" in my future. I've been fired from both jobs I held after I told my manager i was pregnant. Their reason was I was no longer reliable due to sickness, aka "morning sickness." Usually the norm I've heard is if you already hold a position, then 5 months is a good time to tell your co-workers or boss.

I would definately wait until after you got the job just so they can't be prejudice and decide not to hire you because you're pregnant. People do that, you know. On some applications though it asks you for "medical conditions" or whatever that would hinder you from being able to do certain work. If the application had that on there...I wouldn't lie or hide it from them. Otherwise, after you're hired, I would tell them you're pregnant when you might have to take off work for a doctor's appointment or if you start to think that you can't continue the job you were hired for. Most jobs though, you don't have to quit just because you're pregnant.

Excellent question!

I suggest if you have a job where you exert yourself physically, that you tell them right away, and if not, you should still tell them seeing that you're already 5 months pregnant. Give your employer the courtesy of knowing so that they can plan for your absence during Maternity leave. No matter what, It's against the law for them to fire you based on your pregnancy.

Better sooner than later

Never tell Potential employers. Even though it is against the law, they will not hire you because you would be a financial burden. Also privacy rights say that you don't have to tell.

They dont have to know. If you tell them before hand it gives them an out. I got hired on at 20 weeks and didnt tell them for several weeks. I was barely showing, but made a comment about not drinking caffeine and was touching my stomach. They figured it out. But, no I wouldnt tell them. I did on a few interview's and never got a call back. But, legally you do not have to tell them. They will figure it out once you start showing and there is still nothing they can do.

It is unfair to your potential employer to hide this from them! It is this very reason some employers shy away from hiring women.
