Well, it depends.

The old MUST now learn things from the young if they want get up to speed on technology, communications, computers and household appliances that have more technology in them than did The Apollo Lunar Module.

The young MUST now learn things from the old if they are to learn how to be the people they wish to become... what to embrace and what to let go of.

While it is true that neither group MUST learn from each other, I think we'd find out pretty quickly during a crisis that this is the best and fastest way to learn. And relationships that have evolved from crisis are comprised and molded on an innate trust.

Those relationships and that bond will help unite us all for whatever might lie ahead.

Or perhaps not.

as far as technology goes yes, however as far as life lessons go the young should still look to the elders
