Yes, and I feel it's a moral issue. How dare people discriminate against people for something that is in-born in them!
Religion has no place in this argument. This country was founded on the principal of separation of church and state. Marriage is a legally recognized contract, and the church should have no say in the matter. If a church doesn't believe in gay marriage, they don't have to let the gay couple get married in their church. If individuals don't believe in gay marriage, they shouldn't marry someone of the same sex.

This is a hard question for a lot of folks. But before you say yes or no, consider this:
There is a segment of the population that is inclined to be attracted to the same sex. Enough studies have been done that show that this is due to actual differences in brain structures and brain chemestry to know that this is not a personal choice.
We can, as a society, create a framework where gay couples can operate as well (because they are not going away), or continue to condemn them for being scandalous while providing them no possible framework to be able to have a loving long term relationship. Once you think about this rationally, there really isn't much to talk about. If we aren't going to provide for gay marriage, then the condemnation of their lifestyle must stop (because they cannot change). You cannot take away all of a persons options and then punish them for any choice they may make.
On the other hand, the gay community may have to also step up and create a framework for long term relationships that operate like traditional marriages do. I think most of the folks that are afraid of gay marriage have at least part of that fear rooted in the idea that gays do not consider a marriage to be a lifetime committment.
Both sides will probably have to move before this is resolved.

I am for Gay Marriage. If Heterosexuals are allow to marry whoever they want for the sake of love, citizenship, or convenience, then why shouldn't Homosexuals be allowed the same opportunity?
I seriously don't understand how it will tear down the "Family Structure" since Homosexuals have the morals as Heterosexuals. They just have a different taste in sexuality!
Lets' say a white man marries a black women. Is it wrong? No, these two people just per fer a Heterosexual commitment. It is the same thing for Homosexuals. They have a right to be just as happy as everyone else tries to be.
Homosexuality is not an illness, disease, a crime or contagious. It is an inert preference to ones sexuality. We shouldn't even have the right to deprive others to pursue happiness in any way they can.
You asked a good question, and I hope that I explained myself well.

This is an issue that diverts our attention from important things like universal health care, child care, social security, government reform. It's politicians' way of producing bumper sticker thinking to keep us divided so we don't notice what they could be doing to really improve our lives with the billions they waste and steal.
And yeah, gays can get married. Do they love any less? Maybe their marriages will last. In light of the real problems in the world what effect will that have on my life?

Yes, because w/ out them, homosexuals will not able to get their full rights as citizens of the United States of America. It's not fair for them to be denied rights just because of their sexuality. They're practically in the same situation as blacks and women of being denied the right of suffrage.
Some people believe that this is an issue of morality, but it isn't. Who can judge morality? Not people's opinions, that's for certain. Morals vary from person to person and remains to be a very grey area. That's up to the heavens to decide, not us.

Yes
The fact of whether or not being gay is a choice is completely irrelevant also because it is a matter of individual rights and equality.
Some ppl don't like it because they think it will influence their children... too bad. Life has many influences and we all have the duty to explain things to our children. The beauty of being a parent is that you get to teach your set of values to them the way you see them. These ppl fail to recognize the rights of other ppl to differ in those set of values. They also do not recognize that gay ppl have to explain to their children straight sex things also... like seeing prostitutes in movies, etc...
The bottom line is any two consenting adults desiring to spend the rest of their life as partners should not have anymore rights than any other two consenting adults doing the same.
Gender is irrelevant.

Marriage is clearly defined as the union between a man and a woman so I'll never accept gay marriage. What people do in their sordid lifestyles is none of my business but I don't believe they should force their issues on people. It's ridiculous really.

I am not for gay marriage......most people think its a rights issue, but its really an issue of moral principal....do you think its right for two people of the same sex to be together sexually or not. The marriage issue is just the medium.

yes, it is their choice and they should have all the rights anyone else does. yes, they couldn't do it in a Church because of religious grounds but i think the Church and country should be separate so the country should acknowledge it. they should be able to file on the same tax sheet and everything else any married couples get.

I think all marriages should be civil unions in the eyes of the state. If you choose to be recognized by a religious organization, then you should abide by their rules.
