"browsing" is just a term for being on the internet checking web sites out. Thats why they call it a "web browser" you just open it to browse the web.

Browsing means to look through. In the realm of the internet, you "browse" various pages by going from link to link, usually looking for information.

have you ever just been in a store just to look around? Then your BROWSING around the store. Same on the web, kind of like window shopping or hanging out on your computer looking around.

in a store: browsing means you didn't go to the store with the intent to buy,you are just browsing around.
On line you would browse the website searching for info or products or what ever your interests are
