You should know that all of itunes phones have 50songs limit. And you will be stuck using itunes. My suggestion for would be going with a Smartphone, preferably with a Windows Mobile phone. You can install music player on these phones. There are literally thousands of programs you can install for WM2003 (or the new WM5). t-mobile SDA or MDA are good choices.
There are other Smartphones using Symbian operating system, they are also good choices with lots of elasticity.

I like the Motorolla SLVR. It's ultra thin, packs the iTunes software, boasts a pretty impressive camera, and is sleek and stylish.

sliver has i tunues well in know that cingular has one and i think that tmobile might have one also
