Absolutely my favorite mascara is made by L'Oreal...it has two small wands, one on each end; one end contains a white substance that adheres to the ends of your lashes and such, extending and slightly thickening them; the other end contains of course regular mascara, which you apply over the first coat. This gives you lovely, long eyelashes that are not thick, clumpy or fake looking in any way. I forget the exact name, but honestly this stuff is magic!!! Try it!
PS I just looked in the bathroom...it's called Double Extend. :)

There is a brand called Benefit. You can get it at Macy's. It is more expensive, but it is the best mascara I have ever used, and I have tried my share of mascaras.

I have tried almost every brand of mascara you can imagine dealing with clumps and bad brushes. Finally I found Almay, any of their mascaras are great. Give them a try!

Great Lash is always in the top of polls I've seen in fashion mags. It's been around a while but it's a very trusted and very good product.
