I am looking to find a house in Hampton Roads, but for some reason anything that is nice is so pricey its painful. Any ideas? Must allow pets...I would like to buy...but well its all out of my price range!

The Penisula is MUCH cheaper than Norfolk, Va Beach, etc. I reside on the Penisula.
Your best bet is to look in the online paper.

depends on where you want to live ...which part of Hampton Roads? Virginia beach area or hampton ? Newport News ? I thought the same thing that I could not afford a house and here I am 1 yr later in my own house! Go online to Yahoo real estate

In addition to the suggestions of the local paper and yahoo real estate (both good suggestions), I would also recommend www.realtor.com for current inventory with asking prices and www.zillow.com for comparable selling prices.
