Before you go to bed coat your feet in vaseline and put a pair of socks on. Sleep in the socks and your feet will soak in more of the moisture. Has worked for me several times

Bathe your feet in warm sudsy water. Remove them from the water but do not dry them completely(just dry between the toes completely). Then apply Vaseline all over your feet and put on a pair of white athletic socks. Keep the socks on for at least 4 hours. Do this initially for a whole week, then 2-3 times a week. Your feet will heal and be nice and soft. Then you can go and have a pedicure( make sure you have them turn on the massage chair).

Soak your feet/heels in Vinegar every night, for about 30 minutes. Get a large bowl, pour enough to reach your heels and feet. you don't need too much. you can get plain vinegar for pickling, marinades, etc. at your grocery store. That type you should use!Generously apply a shea butter (whole foods,heb,$5) or lotion to your feet (non perfumed works best) before you go to sleep, and put socks on immediately afterwards! Use a pumice stone to remove dead skin. You can find these at Bath and body works, or in the beauty section at the store! Good luck!

Some old socks over vaseline covered feet?
My wife uses gel socks from Bath & Body Works with some special foot cream.

I'm not sure about home remedies, but Bath and Body Works lotions/scrubs really work wonders. They aren't too expensive either.

If what you mean by home made, is nothing out of a chemists shop...then your best bet would be a mixture with olive oil.
