Tell the new mouse to stand up and fight...there could be some self-defense class your mouse can take.

Having owned many, many rodents, I have experience with this problem--unless you separate them immediately, one of two things will happen:
1. The old mouse will kill the new mouse
2. They might have an uneasy truce, but the new mouse will be bullied until its life is miserable and it will probably not do well
Unfortunately the only option is usually to separate them...but a single mouse at least can be in a smaller, cheap cage, so it shouldn't be that much of a financial issue.

You need to separate them immediately.
You can't reason with rodents, you can't teach them not to attack each other.
The old mouse is showing aggression by attacking an intruder on its territory. It doesn't see the new mouse as a new friend to play with. I don't think it's fair to return pets, so you should put them in separate cages.
Preferably sooner, rather than later. I'd hate for you to wake up one morning to a dead mouse.

Are these both male mice? Male mice DO fight. These are terratorial animals and rarely do well when forced to live together in small cages.
If it's a male & female mix, the male is trying to force her to let him mate. She's running away (or if she's the one chasing, she angry and trying to run him off)
Two females sometimes fight, but it doesn't happen that often. Usually this is an older female who is defending her territory.
You might have some luck keeping same-sex mice together if you introduce them into a CLEAN cage. This way it's not anyone's territory.
If this is male+female, remove the male ASAP. You don't need to be breeding.
Good luck!

Put them in seperate cages right next to each other, So they get used to each other but cannot fight, then every so often try adding em together and monitor them to watch for fight's. Not all animales get along with others, Just like people...some are not compatable no matter what
