That's just too quirky for me! I see it so frequently it's hard to believe it's coincidence.
And PLEASE do not misunderstand me:
I'm not saying ALL Christians can't write, or that Christians are the ONLY ones who can't write. Sadly, I see answers from a diversity of people that are barely on a third-grade level, but... just look at my previous question and you will see what I mean.
Long question, sorry.

Maybe PrYncEsSa and sea are right (yes, right, not write, lol)- although i gave a disclaimer, i still am pinpointing a fault of just a specific group.
This question came about as a coupling of my constant astonishment at the abounding destruction of language and my reading the answers to my questions about prayer. You should check them out.
Anyway, SORRY!!! I'll read more answers and reform my opinion!
Oh, and in response to the dude who criticized me for not missing some commas- doubtful. Most people overuse commas, which is called comma splicing. I learned to avoid this mistake the hard way in high school. Furthermore, a few missing commas are NOTHING compared to what I meant by "poorly articulated" ... and all that jazz.

Christians, dont think so, it's a bit rough singling them out. Just take a quick scout around the categories and not many people can spell. You said this yourself so I dont know what you mean.

i think that almost every question on this board has some grammatical errors just like my answer to your question here. frankly, this has absolutely no reflection on my ability to write well or my intelligence. im sure you've used shortcuts and things of that sort while typing...why can't anyone else? there is also called such a thing as typos. they exist and everyone does it, not everyone proofreads their work, but it doesn't mean they don't know how to write properly, they just choose not to. i feel offended from this question only because i am a christian. although i understand completely that you are not "generalizing" all of us as a religion, but with the way you asked your question, it makes people think you are, even though you gave a disclaimer. i'm sure you don't read every single question written on this site, no one can possibly do that and maintain a life at the same time. maybe the problem is that you've read many more questions related to christianity than you have about other things not related to the subject. there is absolutely no way to determine anyone's intelligence or ability to write through a question and answer billboard, its just not possible. meanwhile, yes, there are some here, that have outright errors in spelling and grammar, and it MAY reflect SOME people's legibility, but not all, and definitely not JUST christians. yes, it could be a coincidence, or it could be that you're concentrating on one aspect of the spectrum instead of the whole thing. before you ask questions like this, try to think about some of the things i've written, maybe it'll open your eyes a little bit and answer your question. by the way, i hope my grammar and spelling was good enough for you as i am christian and very able to write correctly and incorrectly. by the way, the person who mention illiteracy is obvious that they have no idea what the meaning of the word means, literacy is ability to READ, not write. try picking up a dictionary before using words too big for you.

And, sadly enough also, it seems to follow that the answers to your question are from those who obviously do not promote Christianity and fall into the "poorly articulated" answer column. I don't believe there is any correlation between Christianity (yes, with a capital "C") and the ability or inability to write. Other than that, your question is sure to draw more answers with the sole (yes, sole... not soul) intention of ridiculing Christians. When all the answers on this ask-the-planet site are viewed (if anyone has that kind of time...) it will probably be noted that short, irrelevant, misspelled answers are pretty much the standard here, no matter what the topic.

You obviously wanted to draw attention to Christianity's shortcomings, or the question wouldn't have mentioned Christians at all. You're just another one of the people who likes to generalize everything, using religion as an attention-grabber. BTW, you should probably proof-read your question...you missed a few commas. Have a good one, God Bless, all that jazz

It must be because the loudest Christians are also the ones with no or little education. I often wonder why I (a dane) have a better knowledge of the english language than Americans. There must be something wrong with your educational system.

It certainly doesn't speak well of one's religion if one can't spell or properly articulate their reasons for their beliefs.
I don't think it's coincidence, either, particularly in light of the fact that the Christian Right blindly follows their doctrine without applying any high level thought to the rationality (or lack thereof) of their positions.

The basic principle of Christianity is to believe as a child and speak as a child .The stupider you are the more you will believe the bunk.

Its possible many of them are kids who are being strictly held in christian teachings and haven't learned writing yet. So basically they're too young to know better.

I see too many people looking for attacks on Christians and making up stupid questions to attack them.

Yes, there seems to be a correlation between "christian fundamentalist" and "illiterate".
Except when they are copy/pasting their annoying Bible quotes.
