Because if you are plagiarizing, you are not speaking from your own knowledge or experience, and it is as if you are stealing words and thoughts from another author or writer. Anyway, why would you want to plagiarize? You won't learn anything, you won't gain experience in preparing speeches or presentations, and you won't have the challenge of doing it on your own. Do it yourself and pat yourself on the back afterwards.

You can refer to other's work through the use of quotes that support your points, but when presenting a speech you are presenting the material as your own original work.
Consider why people get so upset when they find out that a performer was lip-synching at a concert...

Dang, undesirable Mildred. i might experience an identical if Casius, my energetic pal, might fall into some lake or as some canines bite toy. Society many times has this mentality that that which isn't regarded as morally sufficient could desire to be categorized unusual or extraordinary and for this reason something those that have no qualms with our sexuality nor have any inadequacies could desire to bear something of peoples insecurities because of the fact the only reason somebody makes yet another experience undesirable approximately themselves is so as that they gained't be the only losers

Plagiarism is not the way to write or present your material. having your own words and ideas is the right way to win an opinion or just get your point across. other people work hard to do the work you are wanting to use and those credits should go to them.

People are being paid thousands upon thousands of dollars to hear what "they" have to say, not what others who have gone before them have said.
They can pay pennies on the dollar for some one to get up and recite something that plato or Socrateese said, but, to have Bill Gates say something or Bill Clinton say of thier life experineces would be a unique prospective because they are people who have succeeded in this World that those who are listening to them have to compete in. They are wanting to garner some knowledge or insight as to what big business expects from them, and what not to do, in order to succeede in business.
What Plato or Socrateese said thousands of years ago, was pertinent then, and may have some "wit" value now, but, its not applicable to these times and situations.
I wish you well..

Because it is stealing ideas from others and making them your own. If you plagiarize a speech, you are essentially stealing someone else's intellectual property.
Of course, this didn't stop Martin Luther King from doing it.

First it is illegal. Second you need to credit someone else’s, ideas and separate them from your own. If you just said something, that's nice, but if you quote a famous person, especially a great thinker, than that is an idea I want to pay attention to. In this way you speech can carry more relevance by quoting your sources. Modern great thinkers, writers, and great speakers will not hesitate to quote their sources. Then their audience will know WHAT they think, and WHO they think are important.

Simply because you are supposed to be conveying your ideas and points in a speech not the thoughts and words of others---
not to mention it is the exact same thing as stealing!

To steal from one is plaguarism, to steal from many is research. You can use information from any source for a small section of a speech but you must acknowledge the author.
