the key here is not a list of golf, tennis, and fishing. but activities where the folks can drop the kids off and the adults actually have a several hours of down time (every day) ages 1; 3; and 6.
Thanks

I think that a cruise would be fun. The only problem is that you have younger children. With the 1 and 3 year old, you may have to pay additional to get them into daycare. Cruises are great because the kids are happy and kept entertained all day, and the adults can go off and do their own thing. Then, if you like, you can join up for dinner and have family time.

An all inclusive resort would also be a fun thing to do.

Obviously their are a lot of places where you could go, but since you want to be able to do adult only things, it kind of limits you. A lot of places offer daycare, but you want to be sure you can trust the facility. With a cruise line or all inclusive, cruises especially, you know that you are getting someone you can trust to watch the children.

A cruise will probably give you the best and highest use of your money. You can visit many ports, there are activities for the kids, or for the family and the dining is usually always top notch (just don't do a Carnival cruise!) There are a lot of fun activities on board the ship for the kids to do - most ships have adult supervision so mom and dad can go off and do their own thing. Your kids will have a blast, you will have a blast and everyone will come back refreshed and with good memories.

I would recommend Disney, especially a Disney Cruise. They have a great program that allows the adults to relax and the kids have a babysitting program with tons of fun activities. You'll get a pager so if any of your kids don't get tired or don't want to stay anymore you can go get them. I definitely think a Disney cruise would be great for you. I listed Disney's Destinations website so not only you can look at the cruise line but also Disneyland and Disney World too.

We are planning a vacation to the Riviera Maya in Mexico with our 6 year old son. Our travel agent found us an all-inclusive (food, drinks, activities, tips, fees etc all-included). The hotel is called Gran Porto Real in Playa del Carmen. They offer a kid's club (supervised kid's activities ...every day). The kid's club is included in the cost of the hotel. We are spending about half of your budget for the three of us (airfare included) flying from Cincinnati. We went to Playa del Carmen last year w/out our son and loved the area (different hotel though).
Check with a travel agent and see what kind of deal they can get you. Hey, they're free and you aren't obligated to take trips they offer.

The 1 and 3 year old are much too young to drop off for "hours". Rethink that. A Disney cruise may be the way to go for you.
