So far, we can only detect fairly large planets around nearby stars in our own galaxy. However, the number of planets we are discovering shows us that planets are very common. There is no reason to think that other galaxies would be any different.

We don't have sensitive enough tools yet to detect Earth-like planets, but they probably exist. We don't yet know how common life, intelligent or otherwise, is in the universe, but considering how many galaxies there are and how many stars in each one, it seems as though there should be other intelligent beings out there somewhere.

There are more stars in our Galaxy than there are grains of sand on all the beaches on earth.{ Carl Sagan}. Scientists have discovered more than 150 planets outside our solar system. That's just in our little corner of the universe. There are countless galaxies. If only one star in a million has a planet, and only one planet in a million has life, and only one of those planets in a million has intelligent life. then there are billions of intelligent lifeforms out there. In my opinion a better question would be, Will we ever meet them?

The probabilities are high that there are many other planets in other galaxies. Because there are so many stars, some are bound to have planets, and some of them may have life on them.

Plenty of galaxies with plenty of planets. They're so far away we can't see with telescopes or send probes but the numbers are in favor of finding water and life somewhere. As for people, probably not. Which is just as well because the Jehovah's Witnesses would be up there bugging them and they'd get angry and turn their death rays on Earth.

It's a virtual certainty. you have better odds of winning the lotto with out playing any number then there not being any planets in other galaxies

We don't know 100% for certain. But it's almost inconceivable that there aren't billions of planets in every galaxy.

there is a high probability that there are planets out there with water on them and organisims. In fact, one of Jupiter's moons, Europa, may have liquid water underneath its layer of what resembles sea ice. planets with people like us however, are probably rarities.

There could be, but if there are other planets with people on them, they would have to be people that need saved.

yes, most definitely, but with our inferior technology, we'll probably never have the chance to explore other galaxies. Quite frankly, before we manage to blow ourselves up with bigger weapons and egos, we would have probably not even explored all the planets and moons in our own galaxy.
