If I open the oil cap on the head cover while engine is running in a newly rebuilt engine, should there be lots of air coming out (with the oil splashing of course), I heard that little air should come out, mine blows lots of air, should I be worried? how much air sould be coming out? also, oil pressure Gauge showed 20 Psi for a toyota corolla 1992, 4A-FE , 1.6L rebuilt engine, how much should it be?

yes there will be air coming out of the oil cap, as far as the pressure gauge there only has to be 4.3 psi at idle and 36 to 71 at 3000 rpm at normal operating temp.

A lot of air like what??? (can you use it for a hair dryer?)

You might see a little blow-by, but if it is excessive, i would look for a restricted PCV.

20 PSI at an idle? or revved? I would think it low..okay, but low Is that warmed up or when you first start it..it would drop somer after it was warmed up, but I would still expect to see pressures more in the 60-80 PSI range.

You will normally have a small amount of blow-by with any engine. If you are experiencing a lot you might want to do a compression test for the rings or the valve. When rebuilding an engine it is very important to ensure the new rings have staggered openings to give a good seal. The valves also need special attention to the guides and faces to ensure proper seating.

20 psi at idle seems a little low on a rebuilt.
The blowby at the filler cap should be very little. New rings seat very quickly.
Pull all the plugs and do a compression check

sounds like someone didnt know how to rebuild a motor and didnt offset the rings on the pistons and as far as oil pressure goes as long as you have tleast 10 psi per every thousand rpm's you are in good shape.

Do not worry, break it in slowly and change the oil many times during brake in. In my past life, I was a serious hot rodder
