Name calling debases people and shows others that you are stooping to thier level.

It shows that you lack intellegence to come up with different alternatives, instead of lowering yourself to some ones level, to bring you down.

Abusive langauages hurt, and people take offense, thus it calls for retaliation when some one offends a person, that person feels they are slighted and it starts the "one upmanship" routine.

Its juvenile to call people names and asnnine to debase some one no matter what they have done to you. Uplift some one, if you REALLY want to show your intelligence, instead of destroying some ones integrity...

I wish you well..

What would be the point of an abusive speech? The point of a speech is either to entertain or to explain something to a group of people. Why would you want to abuse or offend them so that they no longer wanted to listen to what you had to say. It is important to make sure that you tailor your speeches to your audience and do all you can to avoid name calling and abusive language. Besides that if you want to come across as an intelligent person then neither name calling or abusive language will achieve that.

What is the purpose of the speech? If it is to win them over to your point of view, they've got to respect you. That won't normally happen when you start name-calling and using abusive language. That is the fastest way to turn people off.

To use abusive language during a normal conversation tends to make the speaker sound un-intelligent and without a good vocabulary.
Name calling and bad language, is just immature, and shows others how lame you really are...

Speeches are geared to an audience. Usually, but not always, you are trying to convince the audience of something; trying to get them to agree with you. If you call them bad names (good aren't bad, but you must use them in moderation lest they think you are "up to something," which of course you are but you want them to think that it was their idea to go along with you) or abusive language, they will automatically form unflattering opinions about you and will stop listening to what you have to say. You may have an excellent point to make, but they won't hear it once they hear that.

Why? It keeps the speech professional and doesn't create any problems.
