61,440 Megabytes of data which is equivalent to about 15,000 music files (mp3s). Or about 30 games that need about 2 gigs of space each. It can probably hold about 100-200 movies.

Well actually, a 60gb hard drive when not formatted can hold that much amount of information (60gb). once you format the disk, it will generally hold only about 52-53 gb of data. That amounts to:

52 GB
53248 MB
54525952 KB
55834574848 Bytes

Assuming one DVD movie to be about 1.5GB on an average, that will store about 35 movies.

Assuming one MP3 to be about 8MB on an average, that will store about 6500 songs.

Assuming one text (or MS Word) document to be about 200KB on an average, that will store about 272,000 documents.

Hope that answers your question completely.

Isn't that a bit like asking who's buried in Grant's tomb?

Perhaps someone has GUESSED what you mean... but it would help a lot if you actually gave a context to the question... like:

how many pages of text can a 60 GB hard drive hold?
how many hours of mp3s can a 60 GB hard drive hold?
etc.

Roughly um, around 60gb of info, it can also hold 60gb of music, and even 60gb of misc files, or....hold on..yes it can even hold a combination of all of those that come out to 60gb.

This question reminds me of a cartoon that I saw many years ago.

A kid sitting in front of a computer is asking another kid sitting besides him, "I want to leave the room. Which button should I press?"

Hard drive manufacturers count
1000MB = 1GB
but the truth is
1024MB = 1GB

58.59375 GB assuming that... you now have arround 58.5Gig drive
