i dont know the origin, but i am kind of old and i have heard it since i was young. it was a line in a country song several years ago, i cant remember song or artist though.

it means that you admire someone very much, usually but not always, in a lovers type of way.

she thinks that he put the moon in to the sky (he hung the moon).



i live in the southeast.

Did you say he's hung like the moon? Oh no guess you didn't. But its kind of a mooney looney question like one I asked: Why can you say its sunny but can't say its mooney?
