How to stop your husband from snoring may not be the best question in this case. You may want to consult doctor if he is suffering the Sleep Apnea.
There is a reason why your husband is snoring. Also, if he is suffering Sleep Apnea, he is likely to have some other health issues such as high blood pressure and other cardiovascular disease, memory problems, weight gain, impotency, and headaches.
Once he is diagnosed, there are means, such as CPAP machine (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure), to help him.
Please check below link for further information on Sleep Apena. (I'd rather like to have you read more formal explanation than mine so that you can make your own judgement)
http://www.sleepapnea.org/info/index.html
This CPAP machine or sometimes BiPAP (Bi-level Positive Airway Pressure) machine is a very small mechanical ventilator designed to help the patient with Sleep Apena.
Unfortunately, public is not aware this serious Sleep Apnea as you find answers from others....

I shall relate an incident from a country from middle east. A man got married with a very beautiful young lady. She had the habit of snoring. The family of the girl hid this fact from the bridegroom's family. Few days after the marriage the husband filed a divorce suit on the basis of this snoring. The wife suggested to the judge a solution to arrive at a compromise. She suggested that she will sleep during the day when the husband is away at work and that she will not sleep or snore in the night. The judge, the husband, the families and advocates, all agreed to this solution. And then they lived happily thereafter. This story must be true because I read it as a news item in a prestigious newspaper. I forgot which newspaper. I had a paper clipping. That too I lost. That is another story. Another time.

My husband used to snore and he went to see his doctor about it. They sent him to the sleep clinic where he found out he has sleep apnea. (The same thing that Reggie White died from). He says he felt like and idiot because he had to watch this little show and everybody in the show was super old. He asked the doctor about it and he said that is because most people wait so long to have it checked.
Now he has a Cpap machine that blows air into him while he sleeps..(sounds bad but it isn't) he doesn't snore, he sleeps through the night, has more energy and is just overall a happier person! I HIGHLY recommend that if you snore you at least talk to your doctor about it. There could be something medically wrong.
Best of Luck!

Everyone is different but with my guy, he totally stops snoring when he sleeps on his stomach. I don't know why that is but when it wakes me up in the midle of the night, I wake him up too and ask him to roll over on his tummy and the snoring stops! It works everytime for me.
Oh, also, when he got a new mattress it helped with the snoring a little bit, but it didn't stop him completely though. Maybe you could use a new mattress too...

If he is overweight, encourage him to slim down.
Alternatively, there are a multitude of nasal strips and sprays he can use to help open his sinuses etc to aid his breathing.
Mostly, people snore due to excess weight around the throat, or the fact that the tongue falls back blocking them from breathing properly. Encourage him to sleep on his side, or get him a pillow to help support his head and neck properly.
Also, you could buy ear plugs to block out the noise.
If all else fails, take him to the doctor to see if it's not something that needs looking into!

If you REALLY want the snoring to stop... divorce him! OK, seriously.. if he's heavy... and looses weight.. that'll help... sleeping on his side it should be lessened.... there's also some kind of spray you can get that he sprays in the back of this throat before going to bed and, apparently, it moistens the back of the throat and uvioli (sp?) which they say stops the snoring. there's also a surgical option too

This worked for me like a miracle, and I was the one who was snoring: I trained myself to sleep on my left side, and I went out and bought Breathe Rights Strips! Honest to God, I have seen no better invention in the past few years than those things!! It takes work to learn to sleep a different way, but it'll be worth it for your relationship, I swear!! BREATHE RIGHT STRIPS--THEY'RE THE BEST!!!!

If your husband has allergies, or is exhausted or sleeping on his back. Ask him to roll onto his side. They also have these nasal strips that you put acroos the bridge of your nose that open the air passages so that you can breathe better. They work like a charm.

Have a spray bottle of water beside the bed and spritz him when he snores. He'll roll over.
