I have pcos and for years we tried to conceive. I did not have regular cycles and I gained a lot of weight. Finally my doc put me on metformin and I started having periods right away! I also started exercising and I lost 40lbs. over a period of about 10 months, then BAM! I got pregnant, just like that! Everything went smoothly and when my daughter was 18 months old I started to gain weight, so I started taking the metformin again and 4 months later I was pregnant! You are probably not ovulating! That was my problem, and for some reason the metformin regulated my body enough to ovulate. Some people have luck with clomid. I also have a tilted uterus and the second time I got pregnant it was how do I put it...doggy style. Good luck!!!!

If the fertility docs aren't helping you, something is wrong. It's the RE's (reproductive endocrinologist) job to help you get pregnant.

I am hoping that since you have PCOS that a doc has at least done the testing to make sure that's what's wrong, and that they have put you on Metformin (or glucophage). If they haven't...find a new doctor.

Without the testing and the meds, it's going to be a lot harder. Women with PCOS can't use ovulation kits like the rest of the world because we always show positives. Temping is pointless because our cycles are so long and irregular. The only hope is lots and lots of sex.

I wish you all the luck I can! I have included a website for women with PCOS who are trying to conceive...maybe you can find answers there.

Get your IVF-invitro fertilisation treatment in India .IVF treatment and Laparoscopic surgery is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges all types of medical treatment andsurgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.I have also read that they arrange financing for american and canadian patients as some of the surgery including ivf treatment is not covered by insurance.

They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor i personally believe that your IVF treatment can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The doctors are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.I recently also read about a chinese couple facilitated by forerunners healthcare were able to get their baby by IVF and a surrogate mother.

my cousin and her husband got their IVF treatment in India through the forerunners healthcare in India and is all praise for this company. She is a known case of PCOS.She is a very happy mother of a baby boy now. She just paid 2500 pounds for the full treatment for which she was quoted 8000 pounds in private setup in UK.I strongly recommend this company to you as they can be of great help to you.hope this helps
