To enable a web site to remember you are logged in they leave a harmless file called a cookie on your PC. If you're settings are not allowing cookies, when you go to a different page it is unable to recognise you.
re you logging into messenger thru your desktop or from the internet? Always log into messenger from the desktop first.
Have you logged into your messenger or your email from a different computer? You must always make sure you have logged out of everything or it will cause trouble on your computer.
You can try reinstalling messenger, but make sure it is for your version of windows before you install.
Then I would also go into your email account and change your password from there.
You may also need to clean out your internet options and do a defrag.
