Audi's hold their value well because theyre engineered to last. We own two quatro turbos, one's and 87, the other is a 90. The first has over 200k miles, and the last has nearly 200k.

When an audi dies, it is only temporary, as it can be revived and brought back to life with little more than an oil change and some new belts, and plugs. Some how the damn things just keep on running. Theyre like super heros.

I would say buying one with that many miles should be okay. A better way to know is to research how they hold up in the long run. But for the most part audi is a reputable company.

Buddah and m. ali are giving you the best answers. As far as well-engineered European cars go, if they've been taken care of properly, then 50k miles is barely getting started.

Look for a car with a documented service history from the day it left the dealership--maintenance done, tires replaced, major work; everything. Make photocopies of the paperwork and take the cars you're interested in to a reputable Audi mechanic (from a dealership or an independent shop; it shouldn't matter). Show the mechanic the paperwork, and have them do a bumper-to-bumper inspection of the car. Make sure they take a special look at the engine, transmission, drivetrain and brakes.

There are several sites on-line that provide pre-purchase car inspection tips, as well. Good luck with your search! Audi TT's are wonderful cars. I hope you're able to find a good one.

The thing you want to look at is the history of the car. If it it has been well taken care of, 37k-50k isn't too bad for an 00 or 01. Be sure to do a carfax before purchase. I recently bought an 01' 225 TT roadster with 24k miles for $21,600. It was a second owner car and an older couple owned it for the past 5 years. Be patience and you'll find a good one.

Miles are irrelevant th checkng the CONDITION of the car is more important. Tha Audi came in 2 separate engine distinctions- a 190bhp version and a 225bhp v6. to see how many trips have been done over the course of its life pull the seat beltto the floor of the car if it returns normally you're ok, if not then its either been abused or the miles are incorrect

Audi's are engineered to last, and that mileage is really low for the age of the vehicle. It's said that the "average" mileage per year is between 12-15,000K...multiply that by the age (6 years) and it should be around 72,000 miles if driven on average. Those miles seem low to me, so I'd go for it. Be sure to have a mechanic check it out for any problems that you can't just "see" with the naked eye, sometimes, there are electrical malfunctions, etc that are virtually indetectable until you've driven them or had them tested out first. Good luck!

usually european cars differ from alot of american and japanese cars, we dont really look at the miles because they will run forever if you treat them right. we have a benz thats been in the family its got over 400k and still is a champ. just make sure theyre not all harassed miles and the car was not abuse...but with these hondas you could abuse them or drive them like a 75 year old lady on a sunday morning and they will still blow up at 170k
