there are a lot of factors involved before a couple should think about setting a date before marrying. For one very big thing talk everything and I mean EVERYTHING out before you decide on a date to marry. What you expect of him/her and what she/he expects of you. What do you expect in the marriage, what kind of marriage, open or closed, and anything else you can think of over a period of time.
I think one of the biggest mistakes I made was marrying a woman two months to the day after we met. we did not know one another at all. It was a terrible marriage, one I wouldn't have my worst enemy get into. I am not saying that all fast marriages end in divorce but the chances are greater they will.
My current wife and I lived together for over six months before we married and during that time I told her what I expected and wanted and she did the same. We covered everything from where to live to sex and back again several times. we have a wonderful marriage now and we are very happy.
So how soon should you get married...there are many factors but be sure you are marrying for love and not lust. Take your time and be sure, break-ups are hard but not nearly as hard as divorce. Wait until you are both ready and satisfied with what you both agree upon and want to share in your lives together and apart.

I think a couple should wait until they really and truly get to know each other before they get married because a lot of couples tend to want to jump into a marriage because everything is gong right at the time being and they are so in love, but after they get married things start to change and it is all because they didn't take he time out to get to know each other.

Usually sometime before the 9th month comes along.
On a more serious note, who knows. Here's my story;
My first wife and I knew each other two weeks before we got married, I swear to God, from complete strangers to married in two weeks. We lived a completely happy life and raised three great boys for 21 years. Then she died of hart complications,
I was devastated but after two years I started living with a lady, we lived together for 6 years, then decided to get married. Six months later she ran off to another state with a big black guy that she was working with. Never explained why. I haven't seen or heard from her since. Well after two more years I took up with and started living with, off and on, and dating a nurse that I worked with, for 6 1/2 yrs. After she promised me fare and square she would stop her drug use I married her. Less than 3 months later I found her stoned out of her mind in bed with a 19 y/o boy, she was 48. That was 10 yrs. ago, I have been single and living alone since, I am growing to love it. So like I said, who the hel* knows.

My last 2 relationships failed at about the 2 year level of dating.
I work at a hospital and I asked some reasoning for this and the best counselor we have told me that the average sexual attraction lasts two years in a relationship. After that it becomes a different sort of attraction. So if you want to be sure there's more to it than just sex....
By the way, the 1st left me because we had our very first disagreement after 2 years and she said "we couldn't possibly be soulmates"?!
The 2nd left me to date two guys, because she "needed to find herself"?!
Best of luck.

It depends on the relationship between both party. Likewise some will get married a few monts after dating and some even take few years to restrengten the relationship and get married. Is hard to tell because all depends on the desire on both party.
