When my 5 year old son gave my ex-husband his father's day present, I helped my ex put on the bright green, enormous paper bow-tie. Then told my son that he needed to be sure to take Daddy 'out' for dinner tonight so he can show off his new tie. He looked like a clown. It was sooo fabulous!

Your ex probably figured out a way to get rid of the tie and not hurt his child's feelings. Your antics, however, are childish and your involving your child in this scheme to embarrass your ex are pathetic.

10 on Your scale. You should never use your kid as a pawn to get your revenge or whatever you feel you need to get back at your ex. Because you were so busy looking to see what your ex looked like, you faild to see how proud your son was for picking out the present and how happy he was when his father had it on. Who looks like the clown now? Grow up and put your son first.

Actually if he wore it out to dinner when his son was there , cudos to the man. People around him would know right off that his son had made it for him and there was probably funny comments made and praise for your son's craftsmanship. It really takes a strong man to do something like that in public so he really loves his son and would not hurt his feelings for anything. I bet they had a great time together!

Sorry but I don't think that ex's should be treated badly by their children through the other ex. Your son may love his Dad and of course he would not see the humor in the present. How would you feel if the shoe was on the other foot.

its not mean if it was an idea from the child. if the paper tie was your idea then you've shown your son that you don't think very much of his father, which may be something that negatively effects him later. its not an okay thing to be mean.

It wasn't mean at all because he did it for your son who I'm sure was very happy about it and that's all that matters.

I hate kids and I can see that was a good deed your husband did so you know it was good.

That's not mean, just plain funny(or cute), so if 1 is the lowest, I give it a 1.
And vice versa.

I think it is great when people use their kids to get back at their ex!

No issues to develope there later in life.
