People today are "trained" from birth to believe the idiotic notion that they alone are "special", and irreplaceable. This, of course, is B.S., as your replacement was born 5 seconds after you were. But this deluded thinking leads the average person to believe himself better than any other person on the face of the earth. Hence, the rude behavior.

I'm seeing mostly honest and nice answers where people really are trying to help. But I do see what you mean. I would think it's more of an age and subject matter issue rather than it being a reflection of American Society.

I wouldn't consider it as a reflection of our whole society, but there are many people in our country that take pleasure in delivering such answers. I'm rarely rude or mean, like many others. I suppose our country is quite diverse in many respects--race, gender, and personalities. The world would be unbelievably boring if we didn't have such diversity. Everyone is different. Once again, I really don't consider it a reflection of our society, more of a reflection of the person themselves whom gave the rude, mean answer.

Hope I helped somewhat!

You'll see the same thing on MySpace and others. I think it more reflects on the inexperience of youth who are the majority of users. Young people don't know how to communicate yet and come off as arrogant, rude, and mean. In 15 years the internet will be much different and of a much more mature level.

i'd say what's being stated on yahoo is amazingly tame compared to what's being stated on different web pages . to quote what you've merely requested . "Does this recommend that the overall public sense their moves were irresponsible, in undesirable style reprehensible and unpunished by ability of the regulation? " definite ! What about Madeleine's rights and all those different little ones who''s mothers and fathers fail to save them secure. As a society our little ones could continuously be our important priority . at the same time as they is such distinctive babysitting facilities ,childminders and golf equipment they isn't any desire to go away 3 susceptible little ones and small little ones on their personal . little ones actually have rights . What message in society can we provide out if we condone baby overlook.

I think it is a refelction of society today as a whole and not just America.

I find alot of people answer questions without thinking about it for the 2 points they receive for doing so.

I try to answer my questions truthfully and nicely as possible for the people asking the question, I don;t try and be nasty or ***** or anything else.

Some people just dont understand the questions and have cheap shots to make themselves look better.

i don't think the majority of answers are rude or mean, it's just that the rude and mean answers are the ones that stick out the most, so we remember those more.

i think people on this website are here to have a little fun, most of them are helpful and quite nice.

I agree with APM researcher. the advantage of YA is that it's anonymous, so they'll never face any consequences for being rude. they can't talk that way to their boss or their mother in law, so they go online and tell off people like you.
and the truth of it is, people in America love telling each other off. everybody thinks they are smarter and more deserving than everyone around them.

unfortuneatly, yes, Pepole are rude,self-centerd,uncaring basterds, who have a bad home/work life and take it out on other pepole..its kinda like bullies on play grounds.
They got to insult and pick on other to be happy, but then you get idiots who ask really silly questions like what is a sex? or how do I have sex..then thoose people deserve stupid feedback but if the question is serious then thats a differnt story..

Absolutely. Americans are brash, ill-mannered, at an educational disadvantage and full of an undue sense of entitlement.

God bless the USA.
