I personally don't think there's an age. There are still people 30+ that live with their parents and they still cling to their childhood. I think it's actually a level of maturity more so than an age. Whenever somebody is mature enough to leave the house, find a job, go to college (for some), and live on their own without any help (and do well at that), that is when I feel you can't turn back. Whenever they have proven that level of maturity has been achieved, I suppose.

Its different for everyone. Of course there is the legal age. And the age of maturity. And some people just never do. But sadly, many children are forced into adulthood at a very early age. But normally, around the college years . Though it's different now days than it was 50 years ago.

For me it was around 27, the first time I moved into my own apartment. It's weird that I should have read this today, because last night I watched the movie "Thumb Sucker", which in a way is about just that, becoming an adult. However in the movie he's only 17. I think it's different for everyone, depending on life circumstances.

what does that mean that you have become an adult? are you talking mental or physical? Physical is like 21 to drink and watch porn...18 for smokes...16 to be kissed.....25 for your insurance rates to be dropped... and some of us big kids never grow up...even at 70 ..the only never turning back would be on the regrets you have and if that happens on your death bed then you never learned anything ...should have stayed in school *winks*

At the age of 18. You can drive then and you can move out and live on your own and not live on your parents forever. You could get a job at 15 and be ready for everything when you turn 18!!! Good Luck!!!!
