My friend turns 21 in August and really wants to go into Boston and have fun. The problem is we dont know the Boston area at all. We'd like to get a hotel within walking distance to a bunch of different bars not clubs we're definetly not club girls. Does anyone know of a good hotel around a good bar area? Or have any other ideas of something to do for a 21st Birthday in Boston?

Downtown area near Fanueill Hall there are plenty of Bars, from the Purple Shamrock, to the Bell in Hand, to Ned Divines (bar/club) .. There are plenty of others, plenty in that area, and hotels as well,

A lot of bars in Boston. Pretty much any hotel you stay in Boston will have a bar next to it. Good hotels are the Marriott Copley Plaza, Boston Park Plaza hotel, The Lenox Hotel, Custom House Marriott, The Whydam Hotel and Long Wharf Marriott. All guaranteed to be next to bars.
May I suggest something, Nantucket will be a great location to have a bithday also. The whole island is filled with bars and great restuarants.
Don't listen to peahchmonk if you are not a club girl. Landsdowne Street is for clubbing.
You can come to Boston and sightsee, and on her birthday, take the ferry to Nantucket and come back that same night or next day. You girls will have so much fun!

Most of the clubs in Boston are on Lansdown St. Right next to Fenway Park, I'd recommend you see a Red Sox game but tickets are unbelievably hard to get. There's a ton of great things to do in Boston. There's a place in Allston right near Boston, called Harper's Ferry, it's kinda small but they have great music, usually local, and they have pool tables and great bartenders, the cover is only $10, I think. You should check it out!

Te key is to totally forget the stupid alcohol ritual where the birthday person has to drink 21 shots, because it always makes them sick and is even deadly. Yeah, nice memory. Try lots of great music, a bonn fire, hot tub, interesting and exciting food, Karaoke, volleyball, you know, fun stuff. Make power pizza with at least 12 toppings.

If you're going all the way to Boston, why not just go all the way to New York City. I would love to see NYC.
