the answer depends on what you want when going to bed --- sleep or be awake. working out increases your metabolism rate so it would take time for you to sleep afterwards. but if you want to stay awake to do things other than sleep, say engage in sex, read, watch tv or dvd, listen to music, etc, then by all means work out before going to bed. cheers!

well, it has not right or wrong because to different people the effects are different. some people could not sleep in the night so switch to do exercise to work out till tired then have a sleep. some work ou before go to bed before cannot sleep so want to waste the time and let it pass and not lay on bed not sleeping and stare at the wall till bored. so it varies for different people. however, exercise shows healthy action because when having exercise, the body is also keeping fit and many other healthy purpose when exercise.

Some people get pumped up with adrenalin and can't sleep , but I know some people that sleep better if they excercise before bed. It is a paradox. Like medication given by a doctor may have one effect on the general population...but a pardoxical or reverse effect on a few individuals. You have to find out what works for you by experience and timing.

If you work out before you sleep, your mind gets active and you will have hard time going to sleep. It will of course keep you up. You should always work out early in the evening before dinner and as far as possible away from your sleep time.

It will keep you up and it will not have as effective results. Your mind and heart will be racing and it will take awhile to calm down. So you actually lose sleep. The best time to work out is in the morning before breakfast. It will energize you for the whole day.

It never effected me going to sleep. At one point I was doing a couple hundred push ups right before going to sleep. No biggie. But some people it does bother as it wakes the body up. I think it would just depend on your ability to relax yourself. But as for me, doesn't help either way in terms of staying up or sleeping.

I think it is not a good idea because it gets your blood flowing,it energizes you and will probably make it more difficult to fall asleep. Paying your bills just before you go to bed is also a bad idea. My suggestion is that you exercise, AFTER you warm up, in the morning. It kicks the day off with lots of energy!!!

no.
because when you work out your metabolism increases.
if you dont do cool down exercises and just try to go to sleep your metabolism will still be at a fast rate requiring large amount of kj keeping you awake. so do your excercizes with cool down exercizes such walking around the block 1 or 2 times

It'll make you take a little longer to finally go to sleep, but it'll boost your metabolism (which usually crashes when you're sleeping), and keep you alot more fit.

Excercise about 30 minutes or more before sleep is beneficial, but if you do it immediately before, it will amp up the wakefulness.
Sex, however can be done anytime before, as it enhances your falling asleep chemicals (especially men!).
