I have an ipod video and I can't seem to get the avi file into itunes. I was told by a friend that quicktime or mov usually works .

to convert it, you should get quiktime pro. that is probab;ly the cheapest and best program toi get to do that

You don't need to convert it into.mov to get it into your iPod. Take any converter like DivX converter or any of the ones available on download.com (try the audio/video section)..
Convert the video into mpeg or wmv and then put them in the iPod.
