Yeah, he is. He was a champion player and brought Brazil to the world stage with grace and style. He achieved all this without the loads of training, financial backing and expertise that drives the game now. He was a pleasure to watch and a nice man to boot.

You don't know what you are talking about-PELE IS A BRAZILIAN and there are 11 players in a TEAM-SO BRAZIL IS THE BEST-DON'T ASK STUPID QUESTIONS IF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND THE GAME !!!
that's what i said... and if not a prediction... what the heck is it? you can throw numbers down but it don't mean nothing til the finals... and anyone can win... and if you're wrong .. you are the biggest fool in the world... mark me on that.

Pelé got hurt in the first game in the 1962 World Cup and missed all the tournament.
Therefore, even if your (very questionable) line of thinking is correct, he only gave 2 trophies to Brazil.

he was the best player of his day and ahead of his time in terms of skills. the game has advanced now as have the players...some of the things that people can do now is amazing, and no one in pele's time did it. and in 10 years or so, they'll be doing things no other player today does. its similar to any sport.
i do believe he has been quoted as saying that ronaldinho is better than he was...though i could be wrong...i can't find the source.
