He should have an * next to his records. The sportswriters should not vote him into the hall of fame, unless they let Pete Rose in also. His records were achieved without cheating but by "hustling". (Trying Harder)

Baseball, among other sports, has seen plenty of cheating in its history. From corked bats, to spitballers, to the Black Sox scandal of the 1919 World Series, this wonderful game has been through a lot.
Should Barry Bonds' records stand if he tests positive for steroids or HGH? In a fair world, no.
However, we live in a world where guys like Gaylord Perry and Preacher Roe have never seen their stats removed from the books. We live in a world where Rafael Palmiero is still on the Top 10 list for most career home runs.
If these guys can get away with cheating and not have their history pay the price, why should Bonds be any different?

Major League Baseball created Barry Bonds and the other drug-enhanced super-sluggers to make money. That's the plain and simple truth. More home runs equal more offense, which makes games more exciting to more people and increases ticket sales and television ratings. By not explicitly banning steroids and HGH, baseball tacitly encouraged their use, and the league shouldn't be permitted to duck the blame for the current scandal by putting asterisks all over its record books. Therefore, I think Bonds, McGuire, Palmeiro, and all the others who used performance-enhancing drugs should keep their records as a somber reminder of what happens when a league sacrifices the integrity of its game for cold hard cash.

Question is "should" they be removed my reply yes. However if that were so they would have to know when exactly he used them so only those things he did under influence would be removed. to be fair you would also have to remove any accomplishments others did while on Steroids. This opens a new can of worms. Should SF Giants lose their pennant championship and/or World series wins during periods of time players used steroids? This would effect every team Pamerio's etc etc. How do you do this? You don't and you cant! Much as I agree he should lose his records if they take them away it opens a can of worms MLB cannot deal with. Best action would be place an * next to his records.

They should take the records away. In Track and Field when a person cheats it is cut and dry; suspended and records wiped out. Bonds, and many others, have broken records that would never have been touched if Bud Selieg would have had the guts to take care of this a long time ago.

Barry Bonds is a boastful jerk, yet no longer a "known" steroid consumer. All that being mentioned significant League Baseball's finding out coverage isn't the main finished. He could have been examined extra severly if he performed interior the worldwide Baseball classic, yet he bowed out of that on the final minute claiming he wasn't healthful adequate to compete and did no longer decide to threat harm, and jeopardize his taking part in time for the Giants who truly play his income. have faith what you wan't, yet as of excellent now, the only individual who's primary with of the actuality is Barry.

Wow...I don't know because I think his records should be deleted because that would mean that he cheated. The only thing is that people couldn't just forget about those records and act like they didn't happen because he is a great player, with or without steroids.I think there definitely has to be some kind of extreme punishment though because it is horrible that he would threaten Hank Aaron's record with cheating.I think it just shows a lot of disrespect to baseball.

YES! His records should remain. Steroids or human hormones were not banned in baseball at the time they say he was doing them. So he did not cheat if he did them.

it is impossible to forget any of the records bonds has set through his long career. whether there is admittance of steroid use or not, trying to blank out what he has done in his career will never be forgotten....let his records stand...and let baseball be more responsible for the athletes it shows to the world in the future
