I used to work before in a prestigious company, but i am retired now. I am pennyless now. The proceeds of our house, my retirement pay and the retirement pay of my husband has gone because we paid all our debts. Still we have a debt to pay. All the money we received did not cover all the debts we had. We are renting a space now. I want to start a business but i need help for capital. I dont know whom to approch to help me. I am so desperate already.

With no jobs and debts, I'd say you qualify for Social Assistance or Bankruptcy...talk to a financial counsellor.

As well, self-employment is not your road to go. Get a real job with another company and get a salary, self employment is a tremendous amount more work than being employed by someone else.

p.s. you can't solicit on Yahoo Answers.

How sad. I think you first need to get counseling for your spending problems or they will return once you have a dime in your pocket. Getting capital with your history will be difficult, especially now with banks getting tighter with the rates, economy, stock market, etc. Work on your issues first, then figure out what to do to pay off that other debt and start to rebuild your lives. I wish you luck.

Do what i do. Have weekly garage sales. Find free and cheap stuff at other peoples garage sales, estate sales, and on the internet at such sites as craigslist.org
Then sell everything you get with a slight markup and you'll do ok.

don't give up on yourself. Instead of looking at the problem look for the answer like refinance or sell if you have to sometimes a step back is a step up
