A true homosexual is born that way...The reason I say TRUE is because lately there are some out there that are doing it for the fun of it...Maybe b/c they think it's cool...or they have a gay friend a dn they become curious about it and just want to experiment...Hence, there are a lot out there that CHOSE to be that way...These are the ones that give TRUE homosexuals(like myself) a bad name...

I, being this way all my life, and being around homosexuals a lot, can pick a gay person out of a crowd...Male and female...Most of the time they don't even have to be the ones that are obviously gay...I can just tell...

That's the opposite of homophobia...It's a fear or dislike for straight people...Not as common as homophobia...

1. Sexuality is more than likely a combination of nature and nurture, like so many things are.

2. I can generally pick out my fellow gay men in a crowd, but occasionally I get really thrown off. I can't identify lesbians to save my life, though.

3. By basic definition, it would be the irrational fear of hetersexuals to the degree that it interfered with a person's day to day life to some significant degree. It's rare, but does happen. Not nearly as much as homophobia, though.

1. I believe it is neither something you are born with or something coming from parenting. It's influenced by your genes as well as your environment. For example, I'm more masculine than most girls (probably in my genes) and I have an older brother I spend a lot of time with. Both of these things have caused me to be sexually attracted to females.
2. I have a pretty good gaydar, but it's all stereotype and can easily be thrown off. Most people think my girlfriend is straight and she's a lesbian. Similarly, a lot of people think one of my friends is gay, and he's straight. So it depends on the person.
3. I'm assuming that's fear of heterosexuals and heterosexual actions.

1) There is new research suggesting that sexual preferences can be determined by the amount of female hormones in the mother's uterus during pregnancy. Bad toilet training practices do not cause homosexuality.
2) Usually not, although my gay friends joke about "gaydar", the ability to spot a gay man from the way he walks, talks, dresses, etc.
3) Fear of straight people?

1 - Has to do with environment vs. heredity. [Nature vs. Nurture in psychology] Anyways I believe that homosexuality had to do with the environment, rather than heredity. And That whole bad toiletting thing has to do with Freud. I don't believe in Freud.

2. Some people are good at hiding. =]

3. Yes... being terribly afraid of straight people...

1. there is a new study suggesting that it is inherent. i dont think its heriditary. but back to the study that i was talking about, it suggests that lesbian's brain size is more like a straight male's brain size and vice versa. however i'm not too sure if the lesbian that they are talking about are exclusively butches or do they include femmes too.
-if its exclusively butches then it makes a lotta sense but it would still be inaccurate cuz it doesnt cover femmes and andros in the lesbian spectrum (sorry that i'm talking about lesbians only cuz i dont really know much about gays, being a lesbian myself )
-and i agree with ravi, that bad toiletting is freud and many people have since discredited freud's theories for being inaccurate.

2. we have gaydar but its only good for stereotypical identifications. when it comes to andros, it might work sometimes and when it comes to a femme, it almost always fails.... at least mine always does anyway....lol (unless those girls are in a lesbian bar of course!)

3. fear of straight people? not too sure about this one.

ps: if you are still n ot convinced that gays are born gay, ask any of your gay friends, i'm sure they would tell you that they've always been more attracted with their own sex, ever since a young age. so i really doubt that gayness is nurtured, since no parents would ever want their children to be gay.
