How much should I ask? I'm selling this one because I need the cash so I don't want to put a low ball price on it just to pass it off. But I do want to be fair and also sell it rather quickly. Your input is really appreciated.

Not to sound like an echo but if you were to sell it, I agree with the $150 figure. You don't have much going for you here. A celeron processor, no dedicated video card and... a CRT monitor... 15" no less. And don't even get me started on Windows ME, you could have at least put Windows 2000 on it. Okay, okay, all I'm doing is finding fault. So, yeah, either sell it for $150 or less, you'll be lucky to get $150 or donate it. I believe if you donate it, you get a tax deduction which might well be better than getting $150 for it but then I don't do my own taxes and am clueless as to tax laws (see why I have them done).

I agree. You can get a brand new basic desktop computer for around $400.

Being that yours is a older laptop, you're looking probably at $100 tops with the options you listed there. You may be able to sucker someone to buy it from you for around $200. But most that are looking for older PCs will expect to pay cheap prices.

Sorry, I'd agree between $100 - $200 would be plenty, say $150?

You can check comparable prices by watching similar computers on Ebay. I think you will be lucky to get $100 for it. Good luck.

Well, I think that is a great donation. I don't think anyone would buy it. I give my old PCs to the Goodwill. They sell them for a couple bucks. Give it too someone at your closet university.
