I've been out totally since I was 20 and I'm now 26. I've even been "married" to a woman for 2 years (not together now). I'm finding it really difficult in the dating world. There is one woman I cannot get off my mind. I haven't a clue whether or not she's at least bi. I've approached women in the past when I wasn't sure and it has not turned out well. I could fall in love with her.... what should I do? If I write to her, what should I say?

I agree with the other comments that you should be friends first to feel out her intentions. I honestly think that a woman would take it a lot better if you hit on her than a man to man thing. So if at worst, she'd probably just tell you she's straight. She may be interested but a little shy and scared... so don't push it, but let her know a second time you're there just in case. This way it will make her feel a little better about saying yes.

What I would do is have a party and invite her. Tell her you are having a get together with some of your friends. I would invite some of your close gay friends and also some of your close straight friends. At the party I would take the time to talk to her and introduce her to your friends but do not monopolizer her time. Be with your friends that night and just be yourself. This will then let her see what kind of friends you have and will be a springboard for discussions between the two of you. Don't push her or pursue her, let her have her space and let her feel you out.

In my opinion i think the boy should ask out the girl but that is because i am from Chicago and that is what we usually do here but then some relationships are ruined because the guy is to shy or they girl is to shy in my school we have boys and girls and the girls usually talk to the boys and then the girls usually talk among themselves same with the boys. I'm not shure if this helps it might be a little unclear but that is my opinion.

I'm a lesbian myself. I've been out since 18 and I'm now 24. Personally, I hate it when lesbians and gay guys try to get with people who are clearly straight...This means nothing but trouble. If you have had bad experiences in the past then just let it go...Stick with what you know...

Be friends first. In the course of friendship the topic can come up. You can mention how you yourself are into women. See how she responds. If she isn't lesbian, or bi then you haven't lost anything but gained a friend. If she is lesbian or bi then take it from there.

she sounds straight. does she know that you're a lesbian? what does she thinks about lesbian?
im just worried if you tell her bout your feeling she'll be freak out, so before you tell her you'd better ask about that at least you've ready with the risk.
ask her out so you'll get to know bout her more.

Try being friends first. You can find out more about her and get to know who she is.

i make it a rule never to date my friends...i mean think about it would you rather have that friend to be there thru thick and thin other...would you rather compromise it by taking that chance and telling them how you feel...i'd wait it might just be a stage...(omg,now i sound like my mother)
