I don't think so. I think the child needs to have something wrong to begin with for songs to influence them. In other words, a child with depression may be more influenced to do those acts if they listen to those songs than a child who is not depressed. I think people place too much blame on the songs and not enough on the people who are around the children to notice there is something wrong with them. I let my 13 year old son listen to pretty much anything, because I am aware of how he feels and what he is going through in his life. Some parents just don't care to know, or are too busy to notice things about their children. I don't place blame on the music, I place blame on the parents' lack of concern and lack of attention to their children.

No way. It's total bullshit. Half the kids just listen to it because it sounds cool. They probably hear those lyrics and then they may feel worse, but if they knew the underlying message they wouldn't be inclined to cut themselves. I used to do it myself. There's only one thing that can really influence someone to cut themself, and that's the way they portray their life. And if they're looking for pain or blood, then it's an easy way out.

I listen to that kind of music, and i'm a "child" and i'm still here... or am I?
But, really, most "children" only listen to it because they like the beat or the music in general.

no. children are attached to this type of music because it is the music that relates to them and how they are feeling inside. if the depression or bad feelings weren't there in the first place, chances are they wouldn't listen to such depressing music.

No. Anyone who is inspired to kill themselves by a song already has problems and would've done it anyway. The songs don't need to be changed, kids with depression need help.

it depends...
a person and emotionally happy can listen to hardcore music and wont be influenced to cut themselves or whatever...
another who has prblems and listens to that music has a chance of doing it....
its not about what u listen to.. its about how people feel about themselves........
