You can get him for back child support. My sister went threw the same thing and he gave up all legal rights to his son. But when Bill Clinton was president of the US he passed a law banning that and when my sister boy was 24 years old she took her x back to court and he had to pay her all the back child support from 1980. They based it on his salary back then but he still had to pay 28,000 in back pay and was ordered to pay within a 2 year period or he would go to jail. So yes you can do something if he never paid you anything. Just contact a lawyer in New Jersy area and let them tell you what can happen in your case. It does vary from state to state.

It's an unfortunate situation you are in, but if I were you I would seek a support group to get things out in the open. You need to hear what other people do to get over their disappointments in life. Although he left you all, and has not been there for you, one thing positive that has come from this, is he gave you two beautiful children. I'm sure they are doing a lot better today than if you had stayed with a man who didn't care about you or the kids.
Life's not always fair, but Christ is! Seek first the Kingdom of God ... go to church. Get support.

Keeeripe there lady. enough is enough. let it go. almost three decades you've been obsessed by this? if this is the kind of personality you had 28 years ago no wonder the guy ran.
just think of all the positive things you might have accomplished had you put that negative energy into something positive. i know you're thinking, 'well, i'm not really that bad.' to which i can only respond, i don't even know you and here you are dumping on me and other strangers about something that happened before many on this site were even born. i just gotta say, let it go and try to have a nice day. Peace.

It's been 28 years and your children are all grown up. I am sorry to say this but I don't think there is anything you can do. It's just not worth it. Move and be happy with the life you have and tell your children too they have to move on.
'Cause that will show how insignificant he is to all of you and that you are much happier without him.
Holding on will just cause you and your family more grief for nothing.

Please forgive the bastard so you can be free of him. When you free him God will bless you ten folds. Children will be children no matter how old they are, they aare forever connected to their parents both mom and dad. At some point the children will have to come to terms with who thier father really is A bastard. All you can do at this time is be supportive and assure them that you are their to love them always.

If you want back child support, you can probably start a lawsuit. You should really talk to an attorney to get an idea of what you can legally do. Don't do anything stupid. Perhaps calling the state attorney's office (in your county) can give you some direction and options.
Good luck to you.

Think you are out of luck. Kids adults now. No payments. If minors some counties you could get a judgement in court of child support then they would file in U.S. sometimes got not always. Careful of a scam from lawyers they will tell you anything to get your money.

I hate to say this, but after so many years you should probably just let it go. The only thing you might be able to do is get child support, but if your kids are all grown up it's too late for that as well.

Your adult children may be able to sue him retroactively for back child support and tuition if they are in college. Talk to a lawyer.

You can have justice by forgiving him and getting your children to forgive him. You'll feel better if you can forgive and let it go.
