well if you are talking about the day when the world is supposed to end, i'm not sure, but in class one day, i watched this video on like a mayan calendar and it was made wayyyy back then. It was like this stone wheel that kept turning marking hours and days and months and stuff. It has been very accurate. It has predicted astronomical events in the past. And it is still accurate to this day, except it's a few seconds off. The video said that if it keeps going and running its course, the calendar will end on december 23, 2012. that is the supposed "end of the world". but "Y2K" means obviously "year 2000" so if thats what you are going for that passed 6 years ago...

My husband was one of the COBOL software engineers that made sure there was no tragedy. It was supposed to crash all of the mainframe computers on January 1, 2000.
There were some small glitches, but no disasters.

The next bug is the null date which is actually 12/31/4712 in the Oracle database. By 4712, the issue should be addressed otherwise if the date field is left blank on 01/01/4713, the system would screw up as it would think it to be 12/31/4712.

wow... someone's behind half a decade... lol.
Some believed the world was going to end when the new Millenium came, and others believed the world would be thrown into chaos because it was thought all the computers would crash as soon as it became the new millenium. It was a load of pigs swallow....

all the computers were supposed to mess up when it turned from 1999 to 2000 and cause a big mess. But it never happened, so don't worry about it.
