What I mean is, is there a site where people post scripts (comedy, drama, or otherwise) so that other people can read their work?

There is a site I got to called deviantart.com. You can post stories, pics, flash vids and a lot of other things. Its also a great place to talk to people.

Be careful about doing that. People can steal your ideas and produce them. Never put your work in a public forum.

Write and produce it yourself, before you post it on a public board.

If there is a community college where you live, call and ask if they teach a course in playwriting. If so, join the class. You can have your work read in class, and maybe, produced.

Good luck.

At the bottom of your script, on the first page, type your name, day/date/year and the copyright (c) symbol. (It's automatically copyrighted, this is just an added measure.) Some writers mail a copy of their script to themselves, and leave the envelope sealed.

not sure about scripts or stuff. But if you like to write poetry (www.poetry.com) is a free site. And they have some pretty poetry. I think it is the biggest poetry site, it had some poetry written by that little boy in the wheelchair that died about a year ago. Sorry wish I could help
Good luck

Not that I know of. There's a lot of contests you can enter. A good one is put on by final draft but the dead line just passed for this year.

I saw a guy on another question like this recommend www.firstwriter.com. It's a pay site but only 3.99 a month, apparently.

Make sure you register your script with the WGA first, though. You can register it online at http://www.wga.org

Protect your work before you put it out for public view!
