Azerbaijan is north of Iran and south of Russia on the western side of the Caspian Sea.

Azerbaijan is at grid coordinates 40 North Lat/48 East Long. It is a smallish country in Central Asia bounded by Russia to the north, Georgia and Armenia to the West, Iran to the South, and the Caspian Sea to the East. It is a former Soviet Republic.
